about

As another winter comes, a nightshift worker ponders his thoughts as he works alone listening to cars race on the A801.

This song was written late 2016 early 2017, it was recorded in 2017.

lyrics

A801

I looked at the gate
and thought to myself
I could leave this place
and no one would know

the night falls down
I could hear cars race
on the A801
I checked the gate

I turn back around
put the kettle on
looked at the computer
and got my checklist done
(what have In become!)

I went back outside
into the cold night
for the first time this year
I could see my breath

another winter comes
there are things I should've done
but those can wait
until the summer comes
