about

The unbalanced rules of life, why some have nothing and others have it all. Why do we never learn from our history and is there a God that allows all this to happen?

Pslam is one of our more heavier songs. When we were writing 'Rusted' (a track that did not appear on Weird Decibels 1) we needed a riff to take us to the outro. Pabs came out with the riff that your hear at the start of the song and the rest fell into place. It was one of the last songs we wrote in this session. It was a difficult song to get right. Pabs struggled at first to get the timing right but persistence paid off. Greg dropped the tuning in his bass to give it a deeper sound. The drums were recorded in our rehearsal room with Derek on fine form. The music and the epic solos by Stu were recorded at the lodge in Ettrickbridge. The vocals were laid down back in the rehearsal room. Pabs added the acoustic in the makeshift studio (he was in between homes at this time). The old acoustic guitar had been lying around for years, it had a different sound to it. Finally Jemma added the organ at the end to give the song a religious feel to go with the final lyric.

lyrics

Psalm

long intro, Em F D

Arrival of birth
This glorious violence
helpless skin and bone

Tiny footsteps tread
Upon a road
For which they did not ask

Some will be lucky
For the others will pave
The path for their children

Arrival of birth
This glorious violence
helpless skin and bone

Lord the rules are insane
Winners lose the losers play again
Lord the rules are insane
Poor are the victims the rich collect the claim

Arrival of death
and all is worthless
skin and bone again

A legacy to fade
a history is made
written by scholars

scholars taught
to learn from a past
where no lesson was learned

Arrival of death
and all is worthless
skin and bone again

Chorus
Ending

Am F E G
I lost my way, I lost my way
When you asked me to pray
